No M&M’s for Eminem.

The B.E.T Hip Hop Awards have been the talk of Social Media over Eminem’s most recent controversial freestyle that aired this past Tuesday. The 44 year old veteran rapper did more than just state his opinion on a common villain that most see ss Donald Trump, he blasted out an almost 5 minute ‘ off the dome’ freestyle. While most praised the Slim Shady Emcee, many others were let’s just say, more than unimpressed.
While scrolling through Facebook my TL was pretty much black and white (pun intended) with either you felt it or not. I for one, was definitely on the HATED IT side *cues Men on Films*

While I know Eminem is the last person I would want speaking for me on Donald Trump ,it isn’t solely because of lyrics like “Cleaning Out My Closet” but more so his “Foolish Games” era. “Blacks and Whites they sometimes mix, But black girls only want your money cause they’re dumb chicks” the verse goes on to say “Never date a black girl because blacks only want your money and that shit ain’t funny.” Stay with me there is a point to blowing the dust off of an almost 30 year old song

“That’s an awfully hot coffee pot should I drop it on Donald Trump probably not but that’s all I got… eluding to Trumps infamous selective outrage with the kneeling of injustice in the NFL as opposed to his slight lukewarm response to the Tiki Torchers of Charlottesville. While it’s great that you chose to kettle the coffee pot we could say the same to you on your feelings on black women

Eminem goes on to touch on racism, and the need for unity. Well that all sounds great but somehow I often feel like this is something that has been discussed time and time before.
Background filled with black men in an almost silent gaze as a white man on a Black Entertainment Television here talking about our issues with President Pumpkin Spice as if they are one in the same. Now while I am not here to dissect this 5 minute video play by play I will get to the actual point.
We don’t need a white savior to come and save the day and say “I too understand your struggle” in an all-black place with nothing but black faces in a totally black space. You don’t need to stand in my kitchen and see the sink over flowing to tell me I have a leak when I have told you plenty of times. Either you are going to pay for it to get fixed (reparations) or you are going to go find me someone who can (talking to your white counterparts about racism.) Tupac has spoken about the injustices of black people, Jay-Z has as late as his 4:44 album. Kanye West (before Taylor Swiftgate) Went on national TV in 03 and told you a president doesn’t give a damn about black people and totally shut Mike Myers the fuck up. So tell me again why do we need another Tim Wise with a hot 16 telling black people about the black struggle?
So no Eminem is not invited to the cookout. He can’t even get a plate for stating the obvious. We fuck around and invite everyone to the cookout won’t be no food left for the ones we should be cooking for.

White people this is ALWAYS your fault

America the beautiful, America the free. America: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit to Scapegoat. Can't be happiness. Cannot be the freedom of the American dream because if that is the case America doesn't give our children the opportunity for that mantra. Why would I say such a harsh thing? Well let's open the closet that America hides their skeletons. I once heard the term "School shootings are just as American as Apple Pie."  And white people you need a slice of that and humble pie. Since Columbine, school shootings have become so apart of America's genetic makeup that it is almost desensitized.  This past Tuesday, Feb 14th  Nikolas Cruz opened fire on his fellow peers killing at least 17  and injuring many more. We grieve, we send virtual prayers, we all become journalists, experts on what laws need to be put in place, then we ignore, floss, repeat and follow steps verbatim until the next time it happens.  What are we going to do about it?... Well when I s...
